Mango
You just expect more when paying good money. Its not like they dont make enough with the servicing costs. You would think they would remember why they are employed and how their wages are paid
lottiefox
I bought a car from Honda once. Shocking appalling terrible customer service. Car was full of faults from the minute I picked it up, sales manager never called me back and service was run by blind numpties who didn't know one end of a screwdriver from the other. Audi on the other hand - my dealer has always been good. Not perfect, but good, and always put things right or tried very hard to sort stuff out quickly. Fit me in if its an emergency (like when I hit a fallen tree and wondered if the underside of car had fallen off) and come back to me when they say they will. Not all dealers are the same though unfortunately.
rjgreen4
Sorry have to disagree with some of the comments posted. I don't think all audi dealers should be tarnished, I have had excellent service from the Smith Knight Fay Group in Stockport over the last two years, and also had an incident with my front bumper yesterday, clipped the underside of it on a curb (big curb) and was slightly hanging off, rang Chester Audi (part of the Smith Knight Fay Group) at 4:30 pm yesterday and they said get it in at 8 am today, anyway all fixed at no charge. The service I recied when I bought my S4 cab from John Fox Audi(notts) was also exceptional from the communication to the deal to the hand over. I always belive that you need to be good friends with the people in sales because if there is no sale then there is no service and if something is about to go bad or on its way then you speak to the person who sold you the car as he has also sold the areas outside of the box. dunno if I am right but I have had 4 Audi's in the last 2.5 years and done quite well on the customer service side. the911sc
I agree with R jgreen; and beat you by 1 car!.. I have had 5 cars from my Audi dealership over the last 3 years and have been using them for 10 years now. I know everyone by name (as they do me) and have 1st class service always.. Sure, there are problems I need sorting out on the cars through the years, but the measure has been the way they have dealt with them and me.. My relationship with the dealer keeps me brand loyal for sure...

UBM
..I had it on my last A4 soot chucker and got them to set it at PDI with my cab....they claim they did not have the code when I picked up the avant last August.
Nelson_R32
I wouldn't bother, I had it on my 9n Polo for a while and after 3 months the novelty completely wears off!
UBM
It's not novelty - just nice to hear the security system has armed by hearing the beep. like I say - had it on the past two A4's and want it on this!
DanG
Its available....whatever the dealer says.... what does the manual say about it?
UBM
The manual says nothing about it. The guys ar Bedford Audi were top - they sorted lots of other things. They said they tried to activate it through Vag-com, but it did not work. Do you have a facctory fitted alarm or aftermarket alarm?
rjgreen4
craigyb sorted it out on mine during one of the cheshire meets, press the button and you get a beep and indicators flash. Suppose different as mine is a B6 S4 Cab not B7
DanG
Factory fitted and it has beeped from day one, so definately coded at the factory..... although mine is a US model. Both the beep and the alarm noise come from the same area at the rear right of the car... so I am presuming that they use the same speaker. Also on a recent trip to Germany we had an A4 as a hire car and that too bliped.... I can't believe that they use different alarms for different countries. We got it new in May 05 if that helps any. imran999
Sorry to hear about your woes chris. Getting work done at the dealers is always worrying. Im in the same situation. Im due to get ISOFIX retrofitted sometime in the future and your situation isnt the most reassuring. Takes the shine and joy out of owning a new car. I insisted on my dealer fixing the other 2 affected cars from their dealers before they come to do mine so as to give them plenty practice to get it "right". I also told the dealer, that if it wasnt fixed right that i would then be rejecting the car.
Sponge
My wife has been trying to contact the service department at Liverpool Audi for the last few days, to confirm the date for when we need to collect our new keys. She's been given the run around something rotten. I made the original appointment and wrote it down. When I got home, I realised we were actually in the Lakes at the time, so I asked her to call them to reschedule. This she did, but didn't make a note of the new date! We knew it was after we came back (Tuesday) so she spent all day Tuesday, Wednesday and most of yesterday trying to find out when the appointment was. She never got past the bint on reception. They never returned any of her calls and it was only after she gave up waiting, again, and called them late yesterday afternoon that she finally got through to someone to discover the appointment was yesterday morning! Now she felt uncomfortable giving them any grief as she realised she should have made a note of the appointment. But if they had only taken the time to answer/return her calls we could have made it. We now have to wait until next week to get our new keys. This time I made a note of the appointment myself. ChrisY, I think you need to take it to the next level - get some professional advice and start legal proceedings. It might help focus their minds and could sort the problem before it goes even further, especially as it sounds like it's already been going on for quite a while. My car doesn't beep either - but I actually quite like it that way. My last car did and it got annoying very quickly. It was just too intrusive and sometimes embarrassing. I want to be able to open/close my car without disturbing everyone around me. As for knowing if it's locked or not - that's what the flashing lights and LED are for.
