J_C
Update: The new Eagle F1s were fitted yesterday, and on the drive home it was easy to feel the difference - the car feels more planted at the rear. I'll experiment with pressures now to find the right balance as they break in. Cheers all
lmmlmmam
John What's the going rate for F1's at the moment? I'm in the market for
J_C
They were £125 each, but that was just for the tyres on their own - they were fitted and balanced by the body shop who've just refurbished my wheels. Do you have them on your car at the moment? If so how many miles did you get out of them?
UBM
Ace. Leave it with me for a month John and I'll check everything is OK!
lmmlmmam
No still on the original Conti SC2's - 16k & still going. TBH I'm not sure about their legality. I've feathered the outside edges (resulting from carelessness with tyre pressures and enthusiastic driving). I know the law is 1.6mm but can't remember whether it needs to be that over the whole width or just a portion (75% rings bells). Where did you buy them £125 sounds quite competetive. Scotty
John - Go careful on the F1's for around the 1st 200-300 miles then they become good. Also regularly check the pressures as they are quite sensitive to change.

[/ QUOTE ] I bought them from Autospeed, a local garage in the town where I live. I'm not sure if they're part of a chain or group or something. I've used them a couple of times for the 80 and have always had good service. Thanks are due to Big Al - he lives close to me and put me on to Autospeed after buying a set of F1s there for his R32

P_G
I don't think they would have been the same profile as what you need John, or I hope not. Cheapest I got them for was £116 per corner including fitting or £450 for four.

Mollox
Yes, that's cheaper than the £90 I've been so pleased with on my last couple of sets of 225/45 ZR17 Or have you gone for the "Euro Style" look on one of the axles?
