R32Ash
One of my neighbours has (had?) a Beetle Cab' in the same colour. I have to say, I think it suits the car very well. A mate at work's wife has one in that light bluey grey colour (sorry I don't know the proper name), and I think that looks pretty good too. The Beetle Cab' is just one of those cars that looks good in colours which I think would look pants on something more run of the mill.
Pincher
Looks good SK - I'd agree that it could do with some bigger wheels though

Oli
[ QUOTE ] I wonder how some people would feel if some of the opinions given were to be said about their car? Might be worthwhile bearing in mind that no matter what you think, sometimes adding a negative comment about someones car, especially regular TSN-er's, doesn't serve any real purpose or value at all. [/ QUOTE ] Id rather hear an honest opinion than not one at all. Like I said personal opinion. When I posted the pics of my car, a few people said they didnt like it - did I care - Did I F£ck! Oli
Its good to see you all voice your honest opinons .. NOT! Some of you guys are really anal, and are more worried about other peoples opinions rather than making your own. Everyone has a personal opinion about something, if you dont like it shut, and maybe... make you own opinion about it....good or bad, that is the idea of a forum, isnt it? mccombie_5
I actually like the colour on the car, the interior goes well with it too, it looks fresh. It's a nice car AS LONG AS you have a bird in the passenger seat. Or the drivers seat. As long as there is a bird in the car somehwere (and there is) its all good. Ari
That Beetle looks superb in that colour because it's a "Cal look" colour (Typical Calafornian surf dude wagon colour, they always go for offbeat pastel shades). A Mondeo in that colour would look awful, the Beetle however really really works. A good (and brave) choice.

RedRobin
Giving my honest opinion, I like the Beetle but not the beige - The UK isn't exactly California. Different alloys would greatly improve the look though - IMO. SK obviously likes the colour and I most sincerely wish him every enjoyment with his new car . shao_khan
I didnt expect it to be a popular choice TBH in either colour or car - and Woppum yes its my 5th beetle. This one is a TDi so its new as I havent had Beige or a TDi version before....... I had 2 colour choices in Mind - Red with grey trim and roof or Beige with Beige leather. Beetle colours are a bit lacking if I am honest they have some 'cool' colours like the Beige, but nothing particually bright or lary (sp). I wouldnt describe it Boring - unusual, brave, foolhardy maybe..... Simonb - I'd love a set of Monzas if they were sensible money, but chances are they wont be (people seem to have high expectations for second hand wheels). Pincher - I think you might have a set of alloys I quite like, they might be attatched to your car tho.... Oli - Why would anyone have a Silver or Black car and bend into a sea of drab when they could have a cool colour like beige? Quattro - Your problem is thinking about it, if you fancy something then buy one if you dont like it buy something else, thinking about them does help keep you from bancruptcy, but is not so much fun Yes the pic was taken at the Knapp - had a couple of days around Cardiff. As for opinions - I dont mind people being honest, just rude I find uncecessary

v15ben
Congrats on number 50, while I wouldn't have one myself I can definitely see the attraction. My old man has a new MINI convertible for the retro chic pose factor and all that business... looks cool to me! NewNiceMrMe
[ QUOTE ] MrMe, you nearly always give an honest opinion and often strongly [/ QUOTE ] I do - but if you search TSN, amongst all those 18,000+ posts you'll not find a single one where I have made a negative comment as directly as some others do about another users car (except for the MGF Gallery incident when I'd only been a member for a few weeks and I never did find out who it's owner was). Why? Because if I don't like someone's car - what is the point in me saying when they've clearly just bought it and are happy with it? Just why? For my own personal satisfaction? The point being, I'll give an opinion, yes. However, if someone has purchased a car I don't see what the point is in saying "Urgh, horrid colour" or "Gay car" or "Mad to buy beige" or similar....they're nothing of value whatsoever. It's how the remarks are phrased above that makes the difference in how this thread reads IMO. Have a read again up to this point - and ask yourself "If I were SK, how would I feel about the way some of those comments were raised".

I think I should just go ahead and get it. If I don't like it them I can just sell it and get something else. Chances are I wouldn't loose a whole lot providing I get it at the right price. Thanks. PeterS
There's one that colour (not a TDI I don't think) just up the road from me - looks v good It replaced a powder blue hardtop, which also looked good. I think the Beetle looks better in some of the less conventional colours than it does in silver/blue/grey Peter
Muppetboy
Personally I feel that if you're posting a photo of your car in a forum you're opening the door for good/bad comments and you're accepting that when you do so. The Net is remarkable for bringing out honest opinions from even the most shy/timid people in "real" life (not saying OliH or Mr Me are so)... when I posted photos of my new car recently I was dead chuffed with the positive comments from the guys I'd been communicating with via the forum during the waiting period but I wasn't bothered one bit by others that commented on my 17' biscuit alloys, 5 door not being a real GTI or some guy not liking Steel Grey (probably cause it's known to be the fastest colour!). However none of these comments were made in a rude way and that I think is what makes the difference...
