tappers
You may want to sit down as this could be long!!! On my way home from Aylesbury to Kent about a 90 mile journey!! Got off the A41 and onto the M25 clockwise to miss some of the traffic in the anti clockwise section. All going not too bad then got stuck in traffic so the patientce was wearing a bit thin! Heading for the dartford tunnel and I notice a Merc (old) 300 style moving about on my tail. It had foreign plates on! now I have no problem tourists visiting the UK etc and all that but for f***s sake drive in a reasonable way!! this T055ER was moving back and forth, all because the guy in front of me would not move!! but to be honest he was going over 70mph but not by far so I was waiting for him to move. Then the w4nk3r over took like a maniac on the inside only to be followed shortly after by some t055er in a 3 series which I sould have expected by the way he was driving. Anyway moving on!! I get through the Dartford Tunnel and am so annoyed I am in get the F**k out of my way coming through mode, and was so annoyed I ploughed out of the Dartford Tunnel exit pushing some poor Pug 306 out of the way (sincerest apologies to him)! Anyway heading towards the M20 junction where it joins the M25 after the Dartford Tunnel, I see this Audi A4 estate (nice looking S Line model, one that I would like, 1.9TDI etc) about to join the motorway in what looks like a vigorous manner. Tinted windows etc!! guy looking like he means business!! So what goes through my mind but here we go again F*****g drivers these days and I feel more annoyed but...... He is sitting a reasonable distance behind in a casual way and not being like the other drivers of the journey. I see this 4x4 going to move into the left hand lane and I indicate to move left to allow the Audi past and he casually increases speed as he draws up going past waves to thank me and off he goes!! I nearly take out the 4x4 in surprise!! but afterwards I start wondering how considerate etc Audi drivers are! ALL BOW TO THE AUDI A4 ESTATE DRIVE GOING CLOCKWISE ROUND THE M25 TODAY!!! gizze
I always raise my hand to say thanks when people move out of the way, if you sit back leaving plenty of room they usualy do move pretty quick too, if you sit on someones arse they are only going to stay there to pee you off. But when you wave thanks they always smile, even the old guys sitting in the outside lane at 75mph who are shaking their head at your crazy 85mph speeds start to smile or raise their hand in a no problem mate type of way when you say thanks. Try it, makes all the difference.

Rustynuts
Well, reading this made me think just a little, and while heading off to Heighington this morning just at Scotch Corner junction I see a black BMW approaching the back end of a wagon in the left hand lane. Seeing that he was going to have to brake to wait for the space after me to pull out and overtake I flashed him to indicate he could pull out. He was obviously watching his mirrors 'cos he indicated, eased into the outside lane and flashed his hazards once to say thanks. Very nice. Except that he stayed in the outside lane in front of me, the Merc behind, the Saab behind him, and how many others I don't know, all the way up to the junction I was taking, completely disregarding the virtually empty left hand lane for about 10 miles. At my junction I pulled in to the left and indicated to turn off, leaving the Merc to now clamp himself right on the arse of said BMW and flash his headlights. Finally, he got the hint and pulled back in, and the world went streaming past him. What a cock.

The amount of times I have seen the other lanes empty and the tosser in the left lane will NOT move out to allow the bod on the slip road in. tappers
common courtsey is the problem!!! I do try and thank people when they let me by as I think it is the courteous thing to do! This morning one the way to the motorway there is some guy cruising along at the speed limit and some T055ER in a 3 series (AGAIN!!!!) is right up his arse!! Perhaps not the best aproach but as the road goes to 2 lanes to a round about I blast past the cruising guy and the 3 series and within plenty of time go round the round about 3rd exit towards the motorway, only to go down the next dual carriage way with the BM burning diesel all the way to catch up!! Well just to proove a point and entertainment I get off the lights first and up the slip road and casually but fast get onto the motorway and carry on and he eventually catches up but is driving in a much more reasonsable manner so I take it that he has learnt his lesson!!! Why is it that people cannot let people get on with it and then overtake when it is safe and considerate to do so rather than sit right up there arse for ages to wind them up!! gizze
Well I had some twat in an A4 sitting right on my arse for over 20 minutes the other day, and everytime I pulled back into the slower lane he came in behind me, then when I accelerated again and overtook the traffic ahead within a minute or so he would be back behind me again. This was 10pm and with hardly any traffic on the road as well! Either overtake or stay back, but don't sit so close to me at 100mph that I can't even see your headlights! And when I slow down to 25 mph for you to overtake me on a single carrigeway do so you muppet! don't start flashing me as if I am the arshole! When we got to a roundabout where the outside lane was coned off and I knew he couldn't just drive off I got out and went and had a quiet word. Attleborough roundabout on the A11, anyone on here? I'm Sure you would remember! So please don't make out it is just BMW drivers, at the end of the day I get jarred off by BMW, Audi, VW, Ford, Vauxhall drivers just the same, and it is always the one in his 2.0 litre rep mobile who thinks he is in some rally or something to prove. The fact we find it surprising that some people are actually polite is more the worry!
sufu
Its defintely not just BMW drivers, there's muppets in all makes... but... there is DEFINITELY rivalry between Audi and BMW drivers, never understood it myself

shark_90
On a slightly different note, I have to say I'm sick of being called a ****er after overtaking someone doing 35 in a 60 and 42 in a 60 as I have been yesterday and the day before. gizze
[ QUOTE ] On a slightly different note, I have to say I'm sick of being called a ****er after overtaking someone doing 35 in a 60 and 42 in a 60 as I have been yesterday and the day before. [/ QUOTE ] Seriously annoys me too, I only overtake when I know the road well and know I have plenty of room, and still you get the old head shakers that don't realise if they were going at the correct speed no one would need to be overtaking in the first place! Going into Norwich there are 2 lanes, one of which is a bus lane until 7pm, however everyone, and I mean everone still stays out of the bus lane and then does 30mph down the outside lane (which also happens to be a 40mph zone). So I just sit in the inside lane and go passed them all at 40-45mph, and when I get to the roundabout I always get someone who feels the need to lean over and helpfully let me know that I am not a bus. I always feel the need to tell them if they speant more time concerntrating on their own road aweness rather than mine they would realise that it is no longer a bus lane and they are actually now sitting in the overtaking lane, so 'FECK OFF!' s4_sat
Most of the w@nkers in Audi A4s went from being w@nkers in BMW 3-series'. Same with Lexus ISs, Merc C-Classes and Jaguar X-Types.
