Is there a list for the next M3?

For me the looks first off are still a little questionable. The car I drove was Montego Blue (not unlike Estoril) with the Beige nappa interior, so not my first choice.

This was a manual gearbox car and all the better for it IMHO. Very slick change and nice, progressive clutch action. Handling is very secure and the whole car feels very planted on the road in general, and the run flats don't trash the ride. There is some minor "grumbling" but nothing that would spoil the experience on most road surfaces. The grip (on 18's) and steering feel is very good indeed, but given the fairly limited time in the car I didn't get the chance to press on as much as I would like. Suffice to say that 2nd gear roundabouts are still good fun and handling is well balanced.

Performance (on car that's covered 3.5k, so a little tight still)is superb. Real world it's as quick as any car needs to be and the balance between torque and bhp is fantastic.

The sound of the stock exhaust (and engine) is also very enjoyable and visually it looks neat from the back as the large, twin pipes really extend beyond the rear bumper.

Accomodation is excellent all round, plenty of room in front, back and headroom. Also the boot is very similar in size to the E90 saloon, but a little narrower. The seat belt arm (it moves forward to present you with the belt when you get in) is a little bit gimmicky and I still don't like the start/stop button as it adds nothing I feel.

The E92 Sport is due in mid Janaury and that should address the aesthetics of the car and also give a very good taster for the M3 due in late '07, ealr '08.

So roll on the E92 M3 !!

I wonder when the car will first be shown?

Autocar says it will be in the UK in May which seems a bit early, but who knows?

Well Auto5hite know nothing as usual lol.gif

O/T but did anyone notice in last weeks' edition when they "drove" the M6 Convertible they photoshopped on BMW PR launch photo's/brochure pictures some UK plates to make it look like they drove a RHD, UK car....

I very much doubt they even drove it if they can't be arsed to send a proper photographer to the launch smashfreakB.gif

I have my doubts. Like the rest I assume early 2008...

That would be about right for the UK.

2008 would suit me as that way its worth taking a 335i coupe/cab at launch next March (mind you that's another Autocar date!).
