FuntimeFrankie
Cut a long story short, I had to had have my girlfriend sectioned last night. It was the most distressing thing I've ever experienced, it just wasn't my girlfriend in there. Not sure what else to write, just wanted to tell somebody
lottiefox
Frankie, this must be so tough for you and for her. At least she should now be getting the help she needs, but I really feel for you both at this time. Tough times ahead, but hang in there and look after yourself as well. FuntimeFrankie
I'm at a complete loss at the moment, after witnessing it last night, I'm a mess, trying to get on as normal, but it's really hard
kite
hang in there FF. Hope it all works out in the end.
RedRobin
Extremely hard as it is right now, FF, you WILL come through this. A light will eventually appear at the end of the tunnel.
JamesB
Crikey, that sounds awful. I really feel for you, mate. If there is any light, the fact that she was sectioned suggests that she is unwell, which means that she can probably be treated and the situation is potentially reversible. Not much of a positive, maybe, but a positive none the less. Hang on in there and remember to look after yourself.
RedRobin
And at least it takes the pressure off you, FF, to heal her problems. However, I'm sure you realise that you need to visit her as much as possible - She could feel very alone and isolated. Love will find a way. Soulboy
i would imagine that the best thing you can do right now is be a rock for her, while she is getting the help she needs. Hang in there Ace, I am sure this is the darkest hour and it will soon start getting a little bit lighter soon.

randellp
Frankie - that is very bad news. I assume also the "burglary" was not committed by a 3rd party then? You have my sincerest sympathies. Having to deal with a loved one who is going through this is one of the hardest, freakiest things you will ever have to go through(it's terrifying, awfully sad and confusing for both the patient and all the friends and relatives). There is no quick route to recovery either, but at least the worst is over for the time being, and you can focus on getting better. I hope you & your GF have families and good friends who are availabe to help you both through this time, as this is a when you will need them most. My thoughts are with you. FuntimeFrankie
My girlfriends Dr. is pleased with her progress, and believes her psychotic episode was brought on by stress and years of 'keeping things in', and is very common, and often as quick as somebody goes up, they come down. They haven't even been giving her any medication, to see how she does. So, my girlfriend may be home in the next day or two, fingers crossed. Apart from feeling very ashamed of what she said and did, and quite emotional, she is slowly getting back to her old self, I'm trying not to build my hopes up too much, just in case she has a relapse, but I'm so chuffed, I can't wait to have her home again. I can honestly say this has been the worst few days of my life, I'm not sure if I can find the right words to thank you all enough for the support and advice you have given me, but genuinely, from the bottom of my heart..... Thank you

RedRobin
FF - If you both get through this, and it now sounds that you will, it'll strengthen your relationship and she'll appreciate your support and love you to bits! Keep being patient and don't have any expectations or timeframe....Go with the flow and just give her love and caring. Good News, mate!
