Calm Chris
Go down the showroom and drive one tomorrow, and you don't have to spend £ XYZ per year. It's called a test drive

DHA
Err thanks Chri5 for that input...... Anyway for those who are interested it will be a 3 day hire, on my own much unlike having a salesman sat next to me!
NewNiceMrMe
That'll be an interesting read. Stunningly good car at pace in the right location with the appropriate number of bends and short straights - but Happy Meal centre console plastics, Aldi biscuit tin steering wheel centres and the front valance missing...well it's all just a bit, well, odd. I'd like to wager you're distinctly unimpressed - until you get the chance to really push it, at which point you'll love it. For me, the moments of love just aren't quite enough. [/ QUOTE ] Yes, drove one for 40 miles or so on Monday, in a very spirited manner. I've posted my thoughts on another site but the above comment pretty much sums it up. Magnificent driving machine when you get the right road - but the looks don't quite do it, the seats and leather are let down by some of the materials used elsewhere, the front valance is missing, the exhaust box is too exposed at the rear, etc. It's an incredibly civilised car when you're in Comfort/Normal mode. Perhaps too civilised to be honest. Press M for Madness, and it transforms into a country lane annihilator. Vastly, and I mean vastly, superior handling to the E46 in my opinion, but, yet, well, umm, just not quite enough as an overall package to get my money. Surprising maybe, but honest. sitas3
its the worst part of the car, followed closely by the mirrors IMO. I saw one at the dealer launch last saturday and really liked the front. The dealer 'demo' was already sold so no test drives unless they wheel one in from Bracknell. Not sure though.

Woppum
I refuse to believe BMW would have put run flats on this car. They are specially developed PS'2 so doubt it very much anyway...

The mirrors aren't folding either - it's an option.
