P_G
[ QUOTE ] dashboard was rattling like a mad mouse too but I thumped it and it seems to have cured it. [/ QUOTE ] Ah... the technical otherwise known as the 'Fonzie' method of repair I'd be asking for a replacement and reject the car LF. And for all the trauma it's caused you in such a short space of time I think you must at least be entitled to an S4 cab as that replacement? Chav
[ QUOTE ] QS is going well so far - only been back to dealer's twice in 48 hours. new oil sensor fitted this morning. Then came out of house to find both windows had decided to drop down. Nice in the rain. back to dealers.(why do more things always go wrong after Audi have the car in for just an hour??????) No fault codes found, they think I sat on the key fob - impossible as it was on a table in the hall and I don't tend to sit on the table. Now too scared to go to Tesco in case windows fall down again.... dashboard was rattling like a mad mouse too but I thumped it and it seems to have cured it. I really begin to wonder if I should buy a BMW next time, or if Shorty has scuppered the QS after reading TSN.. [/ QUOTE ] Oh my god. You're jinxed!! .... Stay away from my car! Hope you get everything sorted without too much hassle though, Lottie.
lottiefox
I'm not having a good year with technical things - my lap top died a while back (only 18 months old) and needed whole new hard drive...(warranty) and lets not mention the car woes..... Hope everyone's cars have been OK since I passed close to them at the Buxton meet.... Two tone turtle has managed to keep her windows up all afternoon anyway so maybe thats a good sign. lottiefox
Ooooppsss have just had sudden flash of memory - having said my keys never left the table, I did cram them in my jeans, walk past the car and round the square and to the shop and then back again. In the time frame when the windows "opened". have I done another Lottie..... maybe I DID put them down with the darned button inadvertently..... May have shouted at Shorty colleagues for nothing. lottiefox
You'll be relieved to know that the nice Audi man has disabled this handy comfort feature for me. I didn't break the oil sensor though, honest!
Mollox
What are you going to do, call Shorty and apologise for your jeans being too tight? He'll be a' frothin And so will Roger when he hears about it!
Mollox
* Its probably a rogue Moule rattling about the glovebox that's been winding you up
lottiefox
Actually I reckon the dashboard was rattling because of too much Roger/Shorty action. Must check the glove box. Oooh and to finish off my bonding session with the new car I did a tiny "Chav" this morning with my back wheel. Do you remember the Fast Show - there was a sketch - "women, know your limits!! Don't drive!"
DeanW
Just cathcing up with all of this - what you like Lottie! Guess this is easily done on vag-com on all Audi models with the window-drop function. Ian
lmmlmmam
The car looks great Lottie! I've got my fingers crossed for no further hiccups (although this thread has given me the odd giggle or two).

lottiefox
UBM I am just thinking I should buy a nice sensible Feckus next time. Its pouring with rain and every fifteen minutes I keep going out to check my windows are still up. They are.
Durrsaku
Well with this rate it is going to be a long night. I know a couple of people who check the Tsn NightShift all night maybe you can ask them to check your windows for you while you

CabGirl
Lottie - Do find the windows have gone all the way down when you get back to the car or is it about two inches?
lottiefox
CG They had both gone down about half way, sort of how you might expect if you had inadvertently activated the "window down remote" function and then walked out of range. Windows still up this morning. On the other TT the passenger one was prone to staying down the 2cm drop when the door closed....
CabGirl
There are a few propblems I know about... I'd have thought they'd have fixed them on new cars by now. 1. Both doors close at exactly the same time - one window drops an inch or two. Easy to recreate and there is a warranty fix. 2. One window drops about half way and won't go back up until you restart the car - doesn't happen often but really annoying.
lottiefox
Number 1 sounds like what used to happen on the 225. Interestingly on the TT forum out of the other QS owners two have had window glitches....so Audi obviously not sorted it out. Useless!
