Chrisg
[ QUOTE ] Riz, Whatever you decide to do, enjoy yourself, you're only on this earth once so make the best of it. I reached the grand old age of 40, eight years ago and had mid life crisis every six months and changed cars like people change underpants but now perhaps I've come out of the other end, sold my RS6 and bought something reasonably sensible so I can go out and do the things I denied myself during these last few years. Good luck fella [/ QUOTE ] And over the last five years I've watched 7 relatives / close friends depart this world and I think I'm about to part with the S Line ---- there's this Boxster S that is looking for a good home...... no it's not sensible but .... before I reach 60 !! gizze
Great thread!! Riz, you are totally and utterly mental mate! Not saying you should or shouldn't do it, but you're still mental mate! Some figures based on 12,000 miles a year.... Car with spec worth having is at least £52K, say you put £5k down leaving £47k to finance, after 5 years lets say it is worth £22k, so you borrow £25k. The repayments on that car would be £5k down followed by 48 monthly payments of £493 and a final payment of £22,000. Fuel at 12k miles a year is another £375 a month. Insurance if you have 6 years no claims in a sheffield suburb at 25 years is coming out at £2100, but I reckon you could get that down to around £1200 by shopping round, so another £100 a month. Servicing and tyres? well I reckon the service will be every 12k at around £500, tyres are going to be what every 9k, but lets say 12k and are just over a grand so another £85 a month, and brakes? every 12k miles at least and another £1000 or more. So lets round it down to £200 a month. £493 car £375 fuel £200 parts and servicing £1068 a month. Over 5 years that is £60k and if the car is worth say £27k at the end you would have £5k back in your pocket. If you look at it like that £1000 a month is not too bad at all, but I would remortgage the flat for the deposit, then rent it out to pay the mortgage and if you change your mind in 6 months you still have your property. Oh, and I would go Daytona Grey!
gizze
Opps missed of the insurance at £100 a month so £1168 a month at a cost of £66k over 5 years.
Mollox
£493 you say? I do around 7k a year...hmm.. Black or Red, boys?

Mollox
Oh and if he puts down £5k on a £52k spec that would leave 47k to finance
gizze
I really should proof read before hitting send! Oh yeah tax too, but when you are spending nearly £1200 a month on a car another £15 a month makes little difference. But I guess over 5 years it is another grand nearly. Just realised, my mortgage is £1168 a month! spooky!

rjgreen4
[ QUOTE ] Suppose that depends on how much you actually want to Finance, my payments will be £0 but im sure someone elses maybe close to £1000/month. All depends [/ QUOTE ] Can get one for £655 per month on a contract hire plan http://www.prestige-car-leasing.co.uk/car_leasing/audi/rs_4/quattro/
gizze
£770 including vat. These guys are one of the cheapest for contract hire because they always leave quite big resiuals, I would say that you can normally knock 15% off their monthly price to get a good idea of the costs in buying it yourself Look at Audis figures for the car with a £2k deposit, they are talking over £900 a month. sitas3
but a realistic 3 year/20k miles per year works out at £934/month excluding the dreaded - probably more than dreamer boy's current mortgage payment.
Daz
But I thought he was using the equity he's made on the flat to purchase the RS4 outright. I'm confused.

CarMad
Wow.. Your really going ahead with it. At least you have been decisive I can certainly say that much. I just hope you won't live to regret it. But you MUST and I repeat MUST come to the first Cheshire meet after you get it. Its a prerequiste I'm afraid. Enjoy the motor and the wait. But we need exact specs of what you have ordered please, so we can help with those choices as well.
