Ian_C
Wopps, just catching up on some threads and found this. Very sorry to hear your news. I am considering buying a car that is way way quicker than I've currently got, and I'm paranoid I'll smack it soon after I get it. The one I'm after is edgy to start with, but will be even more so in the wet. I'll probably end up driving it slower than my current hatch..... Hope you get everything sorted okay. Woppum
Thanks mate. It will be OK. I'll get it back in the next 2 weeks, and I will be very much more aware of road and weather conditions. Its just lucky no one got hurt and now ive learnt my lesson
Mollox
What 'Koenigsegg Garage' Wopps? Slades?
Ian_C
Whilst I appreciate this is August, have you considered a set of smaller winter wheels like ChrisP ran with his? Ultra wide tyres are not nice in the wet, and possibly the cause of your incident. Audis might be great with quattro, but an RS6 on 19s is totally crippled by snow - you'd be better off in an AX! PS are you currently / where you running Michelin Pilot Sport 2s on the standard 19 inch rims? Ian
Woppum
[ QUOTE ] What 'Koenigsegg Garage' Wopps? Slades? [/ QUOTE ] Well it used to be called Slades, now there is a new owner its called something else "Prestige...." But yes, the car is still in stock, has been for a year and a half, its up for £385! but says it is faster than the CCX? Said its not a touch on the Pagani though... You know it? I dont think id bother buying another set of wheels. They are great most the time. In the wet im just going to have to be ultra careful...
Mollox
Err I know it from Passing - and from wondering how long it would take them to sell the Egg! Dodge lives around the corner from there I've never actually stopped in there though. I missed the Big Power Sunday when the Le Mans crew went down there in the Le Mans Wagons plus Damon's (P1) Ford GT! They had a good look at the Egg then. Is that near you then? [/ QUOTE ] O I see what your doing, your emphasising the fact that Slades is not strictly a Koenigsegg garage. Well there is no "Uk distributor" for Koenigsegg anymore, last I heard Modena cars lost the rights... Now its anyone's game... So with one in stock, I called it the Koenigsegg garage... So poo poo yourself!

Woppum
Totally barmy mate. Umm just trying to get up my post count... No my mistake I misunderstood. This is what happens when you have the flu and your left at home by yourself day and night with no company and a temperature... Waaaa it just keeps getting worse.. mulkbear
The BMW CSL is now sitting on the pitch for £35,
NewNiceMrMe
I drove past at 9am and couldn't see it. Didn't go in mind you. I think that's a problem with Benfield's pitch - they don't attract many passers by because those bushes obscure the main area where the cars are by the side of the Silverlink/Cinema road. omen666
Wopps, you might want to consider the impact of threads like this on the resale of your car when the time comes.
NewNiceMrMe
Indeed. It had crossed my mind that an M3 CSL with £7k worth of repair costs is going to have that repair declared on any future sale (certainly in PX) - and it'll severely affect the value of the car in my opinion. I'd not be surprised if a dealer knocked another £1500-2000 off the price they offered. Not saying they should - but it wouldn't surprise me. Woppum
Yes I thought of that, but I don't think it will make a huge amount of difference. It was a prang and from anyone can see from the list is that the damage is purely cosmetic. New bumpers, sills etc. The chances are I will simply do a p/x with the new M3 when that arrives. Scotty
Are those saying that it perhaps shouldn't have been posted suggesting that it should be hidden from potential buyers?

Woppum
Scotty, if they don't ask, there is no reason why they should be told though. It is minor cosmetic damage. The fact that parts cost a lot is one thing, but it is still very minor damage.
mulkbear
That M3 CSL was sold at work for the full asking price to a customer in Manchester, (only sat on the pitch for a week)
Mikedavbora
Sorry to hear about your crash, but at least you were not hurt or anything. Have to say though I REALLY want to see pictures mate, its hard to visualise the damage - a branch piercing a Carbon Fibre wing, and you need new sills, bumpers, etc...at 10MPH? Blimey, talk about bad luck!
