CabGirl
I bought the x-large gorilla tub - that's going to take forever to fill with little buckets!
Daz
Yes CG, a little bucket is about 15 litres, the x-large gorilla tub is 75 litres, so you'll need 5 little buckets
CabGirl
Thank you! Now all I need is a little time to use it.

Roy32
I've been using this exact same set up since the hose pipe ban came in, every one in my road thinks i'm mad.
J_C
Yes but I bet their cars are all dirty while yours isn't!
NewNiceMrMe
Alternatively, move to the Northeast and have Kielder Dam on your doorstep. Enough water to service the whole of the UK for 5 years apparently - but you're not getting any of it.
Daz
[ QUOTE ] but you're not getting any of it. [/ QUOTE ] Too late, I nicked a few gallons when I was passing
Paddy_Driver
[ QUOTE ] Too late, I nicked a few gallons when I was passing [/ QUOTE ] Just as long as you did not drop off a few dirty gallons at the same time... or maybe just a little tinkle of a few pints
paulwbriggs
Forgive my ignorance but how do you get the water to be sucked up the pipe from the bucket? Physics not my srong suit....
Daz
The pump in the pressure washer will suck the water out of the bucket.
steelwind101
I just sneak out with the hose and put a watering can next to the car. Occasionaly i fill the water can with water and use it to rinse the rest of the time i use the hose!! No probs. all summer!! Hopefully the hose pipe ban will be lifted soon and i wont have to hide so much. LOL.
CabGirl
[ QUOTE ] Hopefully the hose pipe ban will be lifted soon... [/ QUOTE ] Sadly, I don't think it will be. I'm off to get a lance this afternoon and give my new 'bucket of water' a try.
paulwbriggs
must be my Bosch jet washer. It needs mains pressure unfortunately. Back to the watering can.....
CabGirl
Help! I've got my big bucket and the jetwash plugged in and sprayed the car with regular Autoglym shampoo in the foam lance. I've left it a few minutes and sprayed the foam away with the normal jetwash lance but it's still dirty. I've also sprayed the wheels with Autoglym wheel cleaner, left them for a few minutes then tried cleaning them with the jetwash but again they are still dirty. What am I doing wrong? How should I really clean a car using a jetwash?
CabGirl
Nice of you to all rush to help... I take it you have to sponge the car down once you've covered it in soapy bubbles. The S4 now looks fab and the TT will get done on Wednesday.
Daz
It really depends on how dirty the car is CG. Sponge / washmit will help if it's really dirty. Take a look at this link too The wheels may need a brush to help too if they are really dirty.
CabGirl
Thanks Daz - it was filthy! A few people gawped at me so I expect a letter from the lessor will be in the post tomorrow.
SamD
Jsut got myself a 30l bucket (or Fun Tub as it is labelled!) from Homebase for £5.99. Worked a treat once I got it up above the pressure washer and started it syphoning

SamD
They have said this week that the ban will be in force all the way through the winter too Still this is just as easy, so I really don't care anymore!
CabGirl
I think they've had a ban in Kent for a couple of years now. Even though my bucket was in the garage loads of bits flew in from the trees so I'm going to try and order a filter next week.

[/ QUOTE ] I'd have thought a piece of fine wire mesh over the bucket end of the hose would do the trick.. no need for expensive filters...
