martin275
I thought I should try and save this section from total embarrassment by posting something.... It is rumoured that there will be a number of engine changes for 2007, which are as follows: Petrol Engines 116i – 115 to 122ps 118i – 129 to 143ps 120i – 150 to 163ps 125i – New with 218ps 130i – Remains at 265ps 135i – New with 306ps Diesel Engines 118d – 122 to 136ps 118d – 163 to 177ps I assume the diesel changes are in response to the new 170ps VAG engine, with the 118d becoming the equivalent of the 2.0TDI 140 and the 120D edging ahead of the 2.0TDI 170. PeterS
Thanks Martin - what's the source for these, out of interest? Cheers Peter
martin275
I'll have to look again, but it was a European magazine article.
David_91
[ QUOTE ] 125i – New with 218ps 135i – New with 306ps [/ QUOTE ] IMO the 125i will probably be the pick of the petrols. 135i, bloody hell! But it'll probably cost a bomb
billy2shots
The 3 litre twin turbo in the 3 coupe and saloon gets an exhaust pipe either side of the bumper 0-----0 (twin pipes?). I wonder if the rear of the 135i will be different to that of the others.
martin275
[ QUOTE ] 135i, bloody hell! But it'll probably cost a bomb [/ QUOTE ] Not necessarily, the 335i Saloon is £1800 more than the 330i and the 335i Coupe is £2100 more than the 330i Coupe, so I'd expect a 135i to list at no more than £26-26,500 for the SE and £28-28,500 for the M Sport. As you can get a 335i SE Saloon for £27,500 and a 130i M Sport for less than £24k, then the real world price might be closer to £26k for the M Sport model. Still want a 4 cylinder S3? Woppum
The 135 would be the pick of the uber hatches for me!
gizze
I reckon alot of people will go for the 135i over the 335i or even the new M3, a far more chuckable car. I bet it will do 0-60 in sub 5 seconds easily after a slight tweak!
Thorburn
The 135i is going to be an absolute rocket!

Woppum
I love the idea of the 135, but I dont think I could choose it over the new M3 simply because of the looks and image (did I just say that ). However I bet its a corker!
gizze
Well a few of the guys on bm3w are moaning that the new E92 is getting too big, and were hoping for an M1/2 or whatever it may be called. Why are some going for the Z4 M instead of the new M3?? Not everyone wants a big car, chuckable sometimes wins.
GavR
A 1 series customer of ours who does 1500 miles a week on our Motorways has seen a 1 series with 2 exhausts, 1 each side.... 135 test car perhaps??????

S3Rob
The 135ti should be a great car. The more you hear about the 3.0 twin turbo the better it sounds. Judging by what the 335i can achive this should be a sub 12 sec 0-100 car!! Also looks like they've got no room to price above about 30k list as well which is great news. It will be in a category of it's own when launched and I shall definately be taking a test drive. I think the 3 door is a far better resolved design as well. The shock factor of this car debadged taking off from the lights would be quite amusing.
peterh
Any idea on the exact date when the new 118d engine is going to be upgraded? My current 118d is a company car and goes back on the 5th of December and I was just going to order a new one which I will pick up on the same date. Don't really want to miss the upgrade by a month though
Alastair_A3
Does anyone know when the 520d will be upgraded? Will 160ish to 177 make muc difference?
gizze
Don't know, but a remap to approx. 205bhp would make alot of difference.

gizze
They are doing a 123d, 2.0litre sequential turbo, 203bhp standard.
Irnbrukid
When are they going to do 123d??? Will they also put it in the 3 series.
gizze
I doubt it, they have the 320d, 325d, 330d and the 335d, it would have to replace the 325d I would guess, but that has only just come out, so I doubt we will see it.

Wallachie
I'm still waiting for confirmation of a 135ti, if and when it is released, and if it's as good as I think it will be and includes a LSD, then I could be tempted out of the CSL.....
