Calm Chris
I'm done with my hospital visits today. I'm still (maybe deludedly) thinking that having been sick pretty constantly for 4 days, having not eaten or drunk anything of note prior to today, that here whole system is in peak shock. The net research suggests para OD is peak at 72-96 hours, she's just half a day or so over that time frame so (maybe the last results are peak, at it gets better from here on) She's drinking, eating and not being sick. The double up of the IV should now be pumping stuff in to a more relaxed, less sick and more fed body. Doctors are splitting bloods in to 6 vials and testing twice a day, the ultra sound showed no obvious liver damage other than some swelling. Time, and patience for the next 24 hours or so while stuff does its stuff. I'm ok with the emotions aside the anger that I'm having to contain regarding the whole event. Not anger for my daughter, just anger at the situation and the thought of things not getting any better. Mum is back at tea time, I'm off for a few beers. stooH
Hoping things calm down over the next few days and that there's no lasting damage. You have to be strong for her and the family but as others have said, you can vent on here any time you need

Calm Chris
Thanks for all the positive remarks guys. I did the 3 hour visit mid morning on. I missed the Doctors round. Wifey its at the hospital now and the Doctors are very, very happy with the sudden change over the last 24 hours. So much so that subject to tests results of blood test from when I was there, they may let her come home. I'm not there, so I can't be exact with the detail, but it does sound as if she has got over the peak and is getting back towards good health. Sound like a combo of what I posted about yesterday (more IV, appetite, drinking fluids, no sickness etc) is working for her.

Tipex
I was saddened to read the events of the last few days when this popped up in unread posts after not being on here for a few days, I was so hoping it would be positive rather than a relapse. At least the news is starting to sound a bit better, hopefully she will now realise that self medicating (or not) isn't a good idea. One of my ex's was diagnosed as suffering from depression, she took her pills for many years, and all was well, until the day she decided she obviously didn't need them any more and stopped taking them, she wasn't my partner at that time, but having no one else, I had to spend many hours and days picking up the pieces for both her and her son, that was some years ago now, and she's been told in no uncertain terms, she takes her pills until the doctor says otherwise, and touch wood, she's been fine ever since.

JamesB
Sorry to hear about the downturn in her mental state, Chris, but happy that she doesn't seem to have done herself any permanent liver damage. I hope things smooth out for you all from now on.
cruiser647
I have only just caught up on this. Man, that's awful news, but at least now she's home (hence the post in LTTRCYU!) and improving all the time. How's the rest of the family taken/taking it?
