I have an Audi for sale. Send me £20,000 and I'll let you have it for £15,000 but I'll need £32,000 as a deposit and a balance of £56,092 will be due after 45 minutes. I'll then give you £7.20 back via QuidCo and send you a voucher for a free Costa coffee (expired).

Deal?

Poor Parmjit71. If he ever logs on again, he's going to be excited to see loads of replies to his thread. He probably thinks he should just scroll to the end to get Alan's address and mobile number......only to find people talking about folk shagging Morris dancers, dressed as Jesus.

I'm Alan.

Call the cops???

I'm still not sure how you managed to buy a car without the seller signing the V5 or getting some kind of reciept signed by the seller?

Registration certificate V5C

The person selling the vehicle must complete section 6 'new keeper or new name/new address details' of the V5C. Both you and the seller need to sign the declaration in section 8. It is the responsibility of the person selling the vehicle to send it in to DVLA. They should then hand you the V5C/2 section appropriately filled in. The DVLA must be notified as soon as the vehicle changes hands.

If you buy a used vehicle - seller does not have a registration document or certificate

If the seller does not have a V5 registration document or V5C registration certificate, you should register the vehicle in your name by using form V62 'application for a registration certificate'. You can get one by download from the vehicle forms link below or from any Post Office® branch or a DVLA local office. DVLA will then send you a new registration certificate in your name.

But you knew they were coming, so why didn't you either move the car, or take all your stuff out of it?

At the end of the day, the car belongs to the person it was originally stolen off, If t was reported stolen then I suggest you take it up with whichever company you used for the check.

Reading other stuff on the 'net makes 1 thing crystal clear. You have been conned by someone called Ben who appears to have left a trail of dodgy behaviour and possible criminal acts behind him. I doubt there ever was an Alan.

Go to the police, you'll get nowhere posting random blocks of text on internet forums. Harsh, but there you go.

Maybe the post was on here as the Ben was a poster on here and is known to quite a few members, so not totally random...

The same post appears verbatim on various forums. I don't know Ben from Adam (or Alan) but 2 minutes of Googling lists disgruntled customers, business partners, employers and forum admins. I'd guess there's no smoke without fire

And 1 more thing... [/Colombo]

There's a different lesson to be learned here for anyone who posts on forums. Either choose a forum name that is not particularly Googleable or at least don't use the same one to link every single account you have, including Facebook etc. One simple search turns up a fair chunk of the OP's life. Maybe some people don't mind being identified and having personal details made public; personally, I value my privacy and I would.

And this is what makes an easy victim for all manner of fraud/theft etc etc

....I think that "He" might be a "She" as Parmjit talks of losing a "bag and purse". Unless of course it's one of MrMe's much sought after man-bags ;D

I'm fairly ignorant of the Indian culture but "Parmjit" seems to be a name given to both males and females. Draw your own conclusions, folks!

yeah but no but yeah but no but Kelly's mam went down Dean's second hand showroom and got fingered behind a Vauxhall Astra

And, trying to be sympathetic (if this is real), why on earth are you asking complete strangers (us) stuff when you should be helping the Police do their job ? What are you going to do if you somehow 'find' this mythical person ?
