Andy_Bangle
I can't believe that Mercedes UK will be offering the C63 AMG “Edition 507” as a no cost upgrade* Merc’s Affalterbach-based performance division has decided to sprinkle a little of the SLS magic on the C-Class. Thus it launched the C 63 AMG “Edition 507” that puts out 500HP (507PS) and 610 Nm (450 lb-ft) of torque; that makes it 50 ponies more powerful than the stock C 63 AMG and beats the AMG Development Packaged equipped version by 20HP. The increase in output comes thanks to forged pistons from the SLS AMG, new connecting rods, a lighter crankshaft and a new engine management system. The “Edition 507” is just 10HP and 10 Nm short than the Black Series and accelerates from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.2 seconds, just one tenth slower than the range-topping coupe, while its top speed is electronically restricted at 280 km/h (174 mph). Unlike the Black Series, though, which only comes as a coupe, the “Edition 507” will be available as a sedan and an estate, too, with the latter being one tenth of a second slower than the other two on the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint. Externally, the new version features dark-tinted headlamps, an aluminum bonnet with two air outlets “borrowed” from the Black Series variant, new 19-inch lightweight alloys with 235/35 front and 255/30 rear tires, a high-gloss black finish on details like the surrounds of the grille and the daytime driving lights, and an exclusive platinum paintjob.. Power is still directed to the rear wheels via the 7-Speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT auto gearbox, while stopping is taken care off by carbon ceramic discs that measure 360 mm in diameter up front and feature six- and four-piston red calipers at the front and rear respectively. Customers can choose between three different equipment and trim options for the interior and they get an Alcantara-covered sports steering wheel and gear lever. The C 63 AMG “Edition 507” will make its international debut at the Geneva Motor Show on March 5. The sales release will begin on April 8 and the market launch in Germany in June. Tipex
Like! Only criticism I could make, and it's a pretty small one, is that the rear arches look a little small.
Andrew
That does look rather sexy-time. Bazza can get himself down to his local dealership, drop his off and pick it up a week or so later with its free upgrade sorted. I'm not sure they meant that mind you! Mook
I need to issue a notice to ALL TsN users - please stop posting pics, reviews, stories, videos or any otehr related shizz about the C63 AMG. It's not doing "next car must be my sensible" thoughts any good whatsoever :D
Andy_Bangle
Mook, just think of the deprecation plus the market is being flooded with C63's - in 3 years, when the leases are up, you'll be able to pick one up for the same price a Kia Picanto
Mook
Wait THREE years? Feck right off. I want one NOW!!! :D
Andy_Bangle
okay, okay, okay - keep your knickers on. In that case I won't tell you what the German aftermarket firm Mcchip-dkr has done to the C63. They found out whilst fiddling around with the engine electronics could yield a few extra horses, that wasn't enough so they went ahead and also bolted on a supercharger system and a new custom exhaust with sport catalysts to the V8, lifting output to 650hp (660PS) and peak torque to 750Nm (553 lb-ft). The tune continues with a KW-Clubsport suspension and the fitment of new MB rims in a “see through” design in the dimensions of 9x20 inches at the front and 10.5x20 inches at the rear, wrapped in Dunlop Sportmaxx tyres. Biscuits
It's practically undrivable in Standard form - god knows that that one would be like ! I can't understand why they don't fit a LSD as standard, it's one of the most important parts on an M-Car. I guess they just want you to add it as an option, but most don't. They also don't come with sat-nav as standard either.
Mac
Actually, you have a fair point I found the 335 to be just as rear unfriendly too. Felt utterly uncontrollable if you over-powered it, whereas the M3 is a doddle on that front.
Biscuits
Yup, same in the 135. Inside wheel will spin-up on anything more than haf throttle coming out a corner... it's w@ank. I hope that getting rid of the run-flats for supersports in summer will help as a Birds LSD conversion is £2k !
richy_uk
No 0% offers on this though I bet! No 0% offer but I've signed the next two years of my life away to a C63 coupe contract hire deal that is arguably better. And I haven't ordered the limited slip diff. Must be absolutely off my rocker.

Tipex
I suspect the reason they don't put an LSD as standard is because your average Mercedes owner would just end up spinning around in circles, rather than just spinning up one wheel and still going in a straight line!
