Should be at the dealer on Thursday next week but the PDI process takes days so I won't get it until the week after. Won't the steering wheel be on the wrong side?
JonC
I was considering the SC for my MT09, (but going for the SP Engineering in SS now). Top one gets my vote.
garcon magnifique
Do either of those exhausts have those annoying little stickers on them that say "Not for road use" ? Edited July 13, 2016 by garcon magnifique

No options for the H2 though. I initially thought the top one too but the more I look at it the more I think the bottom one follows the lines of the tail section better. You can get the bottom one in a titanium finish too rather than the carbon. Alos, the frame on this years model is dark grey rather than green so the carbon finish might help break it up a bit. Even better in Titanium SP tell me that their carbon cans aren't designed for prolonged usage. They'll make me a GP Stubby Extreme in stainless steel for the same price as the carbon. Job done. They sound loud, too. Reckon the SC's will be 105-108dB in CRT guise
Scotty
I don't think there's a bad choice.I think I personally lean towards the titanium one but the carbon has something too. I think I prefer the outlet on the Ti one. Edited July 14, 2016 by Scotty
JonC
I agree. Awesome in Ti. And tail tidy. Obviously. Edited July 14, 2016 by JonC

JonC
I know you're doing it, but the only thing I'd change is that can. It's too much as it is. A proper racey full system will be the danglies. Lovely bike. Lucky fecker
Busby
Cheers Jon. You actually get a Akrapovic pipe with it that comes as the standard fitment and the blunderbuss is given to you in a box! However, I don't really like the carbon Akrapovic exhaust! It sort of curves up and doesn't work for me - see pic below. I went for the SC Project in the end and ordered it last week. My op has been pushed back to August 1st now too so I should be able to collect the bike in person next Friday and at least have a couple of rides before I am laid up. I'm hoping the SC Project turns up before then so it can all be fitted for collection day
JonC
I completely get that with the carbon Akro. For my bike, it's far to curly towards the outlet. Plus there's a gap you can fit your arm through, from the headers to when it lies horizontally, which you don't get on the H2. The can is far too large above. SC is the right choice - small, neat and racey. Best of luck for the 1st. And enjoy a week today. I know I would. Scotty
Educate me about frame colour? Are there choices? Is the H2R different? Is it just the lighting/picture?
Busby
The 2015 bike came with a green frame and it is grey for 2016. The 2015 model also had green pin stripes on the nose cone and fins - again, these are grey on the 2016. This is the same for both the H2 and H2R
Scotty
Thanks. Makes sense although I've surprised they've done that. The green frame seemed to be a defining feature. However I'm not into green so I actually prefer it in grey
Busby
I think I prefer the green to be honest! I agree that it seemed a defining feature of the bike. The grey is certainly more subtle and the pin stripes look nice as they are not so in your face as the green ones. I thought the green edges helped define the angles though, especially on the nose cone. However, I think the frame colour will be the last thing on my mind the first time I try and rev it out through 1st, 2nd and 3rd One thing that has struck me seeing it close up is how well engineered everything seems to be. I don't know if that's due to it being engineered from the ground up but from the swingarm to the wheels to the packaging of the engine and cooling systems, everything just seems to have a bespoke feel about it.

Almost counting the hours now - I've even got the taxi booked already for taking me there on Friday morning! New paddock stands are ready in the garage, insurance all sorted, seat cover has arrived and been fitted but still no sign of the exhaust yet. Fingers crossed it lands in the next two days. The dealer has also informed me that it can have the ECU flashed to enable rev-matched, clutchless downshifts and 260hp - Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!
