Colin M
What, with that big pram handle on the back? I guess that's used to push it when it's broken down? Servicing every 3,000 miles, cambelts every 2 years. Good luck!
biturbo
Colin, if you've got the money to seriously consider buying that machine, then the servicing costs are not a problem. But I can see your point

Snail
Not sure about that......they used to be an icon, but saw one at goodwood, and they look very dated IMO, think for that money i'd rather have a jag XJ220.
Andrew
If I had the money there would be no doubt in my mind ... this is what I would buy. First I would think about stretching to a Koenigsegg though but after that then this (and an AM Vantage V600) would be in my (spacious) garage. A3Floyd
i remember when the F40's were changing hands for £1M + just before the big stock crash. It's definately one of my favourite 80's cars. The Gallardo is my favourite at the moment - what a gorgeous piece of car design

[/ QUOTE ] I thought these were generally considered as crap? A Saudi friend (25 years old ) Has a highly-tuned F40. Bigger turbos, chip tuning, straight-through exhaust (about 700 bhp when running well). Followed him last summer and nearly creamed my pants at the flames shooting out on the over-run plus constant crackling through the exhuast. He let his rather attractive blonde girlfriend drive one of his other cars (Porsche GT3).... Me, jealous...never!
DHA
The F40 came out when i was 10 and was really getting into cars so its got a special place in my heart.

Adam
sorry to be negative but never been a fan of this car I know its supposed to be a dream to drive but it looks like a bag of spanners IMHO and those bbonnet lines are horrible Diablo came out at roughly the same time and I know where my heart lies

cerbera
Having seen 3 of them up close in the flesh at Le Mans this year I was sorely disappointed in them! IMO they look pants and very 'plasticy'! Granted, designed as a track car etc etc, but I would spend that sort of money elsewhere...

I remember seeing one at the motor show at the NEC. Lovely.
