v6tas
[ QUOTE ] Linky Like we said!!!! [/ QUOTE ] All this bollox started when the MK V R32 was on the horizon. If you want an R36 then put a deposit down on a Passat !. You will get a car with an R36 badge and a twin exaust but by god you will still need to get a life before you warrant being seen in one !!. What a nasty car the R36 passat really is

No mention of the engine or the drive-train, which, IMO, should be a 2.0 TFSI with 4Motion, pushing out 280+ bhp - it won't be that difficult to build a car that's quicker than the R32. Lose some weight and add plenty of torque and you're away.

[/ QUOTE ] That would be great if it was the 2.0T engine with 280+BHP and 4WD, as it would bring the weight down - Imagine that a 4WD Golf GTI with near on 300BHP . I would have it eiether way with the 3.6 or a highly tuned 2.0T, as long as it didn't have lots of LAG. However Im sure they would utilise their TFSI technology and stick a supercharger in as well. ashleywater
Oh feck! This means a return trip down to the stealers with my depo money!!!!!! What a frigging fiasco.........I have come to the conclusion that most stealers have their heads lodged firmly up their ****** where new product info is concerned I am going to have to eat some rather large slices of "humble pie" after what I called the sales manager on the recent visit to pick my "R36" depo up.......... RedRobin
....It's usually the Sales people that are the muppets at dealerships imo.
S3Rob
This looks interesting The fact that it's going to be called an RSI probably points to it not being the 3.6 or they would call it an R36. Also I really can't see it being a twincharger unit as there have been no rumours of the 2.0 being ready for production. They haven't even done the 1.6 yet. Most likely is the uprated-uprated TFSI engine at 280ps due in the new TT-S IMO.

Mattchaps
So they bring out the "R" range for the cheaper models, and then lose the "R", and call it an RSI instead. Makes me think of Vauxhalls. I'm a bit disappointed to be honest But then again, whats in a name. I will have to see the car before I completely turn away

Mook
At the minute, given the choice between a new S3 and a Golf RSi, I would take the Golf (when it comes out). The S3 is a great car, but it's missing that "something"...
rs32
if it arrives, will VW be allowed to make the RSI "better" than the S3 ?

TP27
IF the R36 or RSi does come to the fore, my initial concern is range as they'll have to put in a bigger fuel tank in it (irrespective of the FSi technology). Is there the space ?? Every time I read an update on the Audi RS4, the report says the pain in the ar$e of owning the car is having to fill up with V-Power twice a day !!
