Woppum
I hated the grabbing function, though that was the most unnecessary thing. If you want it tighter you will make it tighter. Id have the seat in the same position whether its on sport or not...
lmmlmmam
[ QUOTE ] I have done 200 LOL .. Just to put to bed the Bucket seat debate .. I was concerned that would be uncomfortable .. in a word they are NOT. [/ QUOTE ] Andy, sorry to be sarcastic but perhaps after 200miles you don't have the definative opinion on seat comfort! PetrolDave
[ QUOTE ] Just to put to bed the Bucket seat debate .. I was concerned that would be uncomfortable .. in a word they are NOT. [/ QUOTE ] OK after 200 miles YOU don't find them uncomfortable. But after 50 miles in a demonstrator with buckets my back was hurting really bad and my sciatica was darned uncomfortable - so I ordered the Recaros and after 6000 miles I often get out of the car with LESS back pain and sciatica than I got in with because the Recaros support me in all the right places which I just could not adjust the buckets to do. Bottom line? - for some people the buckets are the right choice, for other people the Recaros are the right choice.
Tizzy
You can override the squeezy bolsters on sport mode my activating the seat button can't you? To go back on my slightly hijacked part of this thread, do all RS4 saloon's come with the split-fold rear seat (like the S4) and presumably my Audi Roof-Bars will still fit an RS4? - got to get my practicalities & mountain-bike transportation priorities sorted!! ashleyadam
Merry Xmas Tizzy you going for an RS4 then? New or Used prices seem to be getting better.
Tizzy
So I had a look at the Four Oaks car - it does look good in Daytona Grey and it appears that a purchase price of c. £45K would be achieveable with some more determined haggling. They didn't offer me much for the S4 though The Bucket seats are still a bit of sticking point as I struggled to get really comfy in them. What was also concerning was that the seat base side bolsters on this 11K miles car were starting to show a fair bit of wear on the leather, which doesn't bode well. Leeds Audi have a similarly priced & specc'd car with only 5K miles on it and it has the S4 style recaro seats. The downside (perhaps) is that the car is in Deep Green met. which looks OK in the photo's but I'm not sure what it'll be like in the flesh and also how it might affect residuals! May have a look, just waiting on a possible change of job which would mean that I'll certainly be able to justify an RS4!
ashleyadam
I had a look at that on the site yesterday never seen that colour before I should of had a look over xmas as was near by Leeds I think it looks good though. I am surprised how many are currentley available on the audi site, do you reckon potential R8 owners are selling there RS4's. As far as I am concerned there are very few better cars for your money in the case of the avant at least.
Tizzy
I reckon most of the RS4's are just the dealership demo's being sold on at 6 months old TBH especially as they're almost all up-specc'd saloons - which is good for those of us who "might" be in the market Would / will have to see that Green in the flesh, green is a difficult colour on many cars and can have quite a marked effect on residual values as well - although perhaps not something as specialist as an RS4? ashleyadam
Tizzy Keep me posted if you find any cheap low mileage avants going as may be interested, when are you going to take a look at Green RS4 in Leeds.
Chav
Green will look pants and will be a nightmare to shift. Avoid! I test drove a dark green (can't remember exact name of the colour) Audi cab a few years ago - bloody horrid!!
ashleyadam
I think it might be a different green, the car is currentley on Audi site.
Daz
It's very similar to the Goodwood Green that was available on the previous RS4.

Tizzy
I don't dislike it in the photos, but will reserve judgement until I've seen one in the "flesh" and I would be concerned about residuals. What I need is one at about that price in Daytona with the Recaro's!! Next time I'm up in Leeds on business (which will be in the next couple of weeks) I'll pop in and have a proper look at it. Dave
I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would order a RS4 in that green
Daz
Maybe it was a dealer demo, they do order odd colours sometimes. And why order those wheels too? The RS4 wheels are much nicer.

[/ QUOTE ] As I said earlier, it looks as though the majority of these cars are dealer demo's that have reached age or mileage limits - certainly those I've enquired about have been. I actually don't dislike the 18" wheel option and don't imagine it would alter the handling or ride a great deal - tyres would be cheaper too! That Green has to be seen in the flesh though - however if the car is a "sticker" then maybe a good deal could be done........
