That mito is one fugly thing!

Like the look of the Brera though, and the matt paint. is it a film like i believe the rs500 to be?

Rocco is a very safe bet too.

Amazed you think that! I'd go as far to say its one of the best looking cars on sale today, certainly the best looking hatch. Sadly looks are not everything.

A lad i play football with, or rather, his Mrs has a white Mito, so seen them a fair few times and its horrible.

Rocco is nice though, in black.

I realised a nice cockpit it more important than i thought.

There are so many responses to that I'm not sure where to start ... :roflmao:

You'd be suprised what survives the cab life best.

I'm going to go leftfield and say Peugeot 406. Maybe Vectra.

Back to hot hatches and such, I definitely think you've got an awful lot more flexibility if you go second hand. If you like the Alfa look inside, I'd be looking at a lightly used 159 TI instead of the smaller stuff. Engine kinda depends what you're after. The four pot petrol is lively enough.

130i or 123d Coupe has to be another good option.

You would be correct to say Peugeot interiors wear the best, no 406's any more though, all 407's, just a shame the rest of the car isn't as reliable.

Ford and Vauxhall come next, might not be the best looking interiors, but they wear very well.

Everything else Japanese etc is in the 'average' group, with anything VAG almost at the bottom, held off only by the spectacularly fall aparty nature of Citroen, Renault and Chrysler!

Need new dave. id feel a ponce in an old car, it would eat fuel and fall apart with 10k+ miles p/a. need a reliable, quick motor which is a nice to be in...

Been driving a clubman s all day. almost adding a cooper s works to the mix.

I'm off to a caterham driving day on the 5th.

If its any good i'll loet you know if it could join the list.

Not strictly a hatch i know.;)

Works mini is nice.

How about a Works Gp?

Its probably nicer inside than the ford but still probably not the best work horse ;)

Sounds great fun though.

Can't do gp, want 4 seats really

I thought you had decided on a clio 200? (sorry, I haven't read through the whole thread)

Was just reading on Piston Heads yesterday, Subaru are bringing a Cosworth Tuned Impreza out. 400bhp and 0-60 in 3.7 seconds. :)

One of my brothers bought one new. 1.9 GT Diesel Q2 jobbie. It's been faultless in the 3 years he's owned it. +++

He must have got the only good one then!!

I have had customers with GTs that have had fires in the engine bay whilst driving, door checkstraps breaking leading to the door and wing having a meeting and other, random electrical "issues"!

I think there's also at least one tuning company that offers their own RS500 rival. Have a look in the evo.co.uk archives - they've got umpteen tests of tuned Feckus STs and a few RSs.

Anywho, seems like Wopps discarded the Feckus a while back, so no go I'm afraid.

I've just had a brainwave ... something compact yet stylish that would suit Wopps perfectly...

An Aston Martin Sygnet!

Will that not be the limited edition Ford RS500?

Ford-Focus-RS500.jpg

350 PS

No mate. RS500 was limited run and all sold. Now making stupid money on Pistoheads, autotrader etc. Hence why my earlier post said "tuned to RS500 bhp"

How often will you use the 4 seats Sam? If its not often then i would think Cooper S JCW would be grate for tearing around London. Or The new Megane Renaultsport Cup £20k.

But here is your answer mate. In the last 5 years ive had mkV Gti and R32 but both of these were boreing when it came to my Corsa VXR. Small enough to nip in and out of trafic but great room inside enough for 4 big guys. 190bhp out of the box but there are so many proven mods and if i know you, you could personalise it tastefully. A good second hand example tuned to 250bhp could be yours for £12k. When looking a couple of years ago i tested the clio 197 and felt you had to ring its neck, i noticed earlier you dont like the v-tec power plants then i dont think the clio would suit you. The VXR with its 1.6 Turbo gives that old school kick from low down and Tax and petrol costs aint bad.
