NewNiceMrMe
[ QUOTE ] And please have a look here although the M3 eventually does pass the RS4: - the M3 isn't standard - the M3 has to work its wheels off - the RS4 is badly driven, the M3 is very well driven The point is, you can't dismiss the RS4 like that after watching the video. Then have a look here and listen to these swedes having kittens trying to catch an RS4. And failing! All I'm saying they're both great cars. They take different approaches and arrive at different ends. Performance wise they're very close but you can't just brush off the RS4, it is simply a remarkable car. [/ QUOTE ] Thank you for perfectly illustrating my point. I did not dismiss anything so please stop putting words into my mouth yet again! I acclaimed Audi's in an earlier post today. I then give a glimmer of a negative comment and am launched upon by members and moderators alike! Furthermore, claims such as "400 in my area" are nothing but sheer speculation and guesses! All I have done is quote facts! I thought TSN was a bit more constructive, obviously I was wrong. Bye.

sitas3
[ QUOTE ] New signature. I have never encountered such blinkered, biased, and moderator supported rubbish, as I have from Audi drivers today. Going to find a forum of constructive minded discussion elsewhere. You should all get a racehorse between you. If it had 3 legs you could blinker it as much as yourselves and you'd still back it to win the Grand National... [/ QUOTE ] interesting comments - signature included. I can't see anyone disagreeing with you on the M3 being the 'Better drivers car' on this thread - Like Mollox, I quite like the E46 M3 also. I'm just interested as to what you think makes the M3 a better drivers car? you brought it up along with the stereotypical '50 years plus' humourous comment. no need to get so touchy! PhilT
LMAO. BMW vs Audi debates rock , even better when it's an M3 vs RS4. I've had an RS4 for 3.5+ years, fecking awesome car. There ain't no car in the world that can give the same level of bang for buck in an all round test. Soz. The only M3 I'd consider would be the CSL, but that's made of cardboard... Of course, each to their own.
sitas3
totally agree Phil. however, when someone posts this: [ QUOTE ] Seriously, if you think a 3 series cab can be mistaken for an M3 Convertible then I fear for road users in your vicinity when driving - because you're likely not to notice them and be frequently involved in collisions. [/ QUOTE ] and then carries on to confuse my car with an S4 amuses me greatly.
NewNiceMrMe
Yet more words being put in my mouth? You said I confused your car with an S4, I did not. Perhaps when you have finished reaching conclusions from nothing but your own comments (and not those from myself) you can actually pass remark that bears credence. NewNiceMrMe
TSN is quite a hoot, It often keeps me busy, Instead of running chores for the wife, I type until I'm dizzy. Cars this and transport that, We discuss all manner of crap, Sometimes we even stop for tea, And I often drink mine with flapjack. But there are those that wind me up, They mainly drive RS Audi's, They're so blinkered I'm heard a rumour, They've been bred from horses by Saudi's But if you let them believe their hype, You can keep sane and merry and bright, As long as they stay away from me now, I'll sleep right through the night. Should they come and trouble my posts, I'll have no option other than to wake up, To fight and answer all their bullshit, And remind them I don't give a flying f***. They haven't a clue, the vast majority, Of anything they're talking about, They're blinded by the four circles on their cars, And talk from the hole farthest from their mouth... Ari
[ QUOTE ] We need ARI. Please ARI. As an Audi A4 Cabriolet owner that I know with taste and sense...please contribute and tell me do you honestly see any credibility in their argument that a 318i Conv can be mistaken for an M3 Conv..... Because I am losing my sanity with these people. I don't think they even drive....thats all I can summise! [/ QUOTE ] Well, since you ask... Basically, the M3 does look like a normal three series, yes. Until you look a little closer. Then you notice the bigger wheels, the extended arches, the bonnet bulge, the lower leaner look. But don't you see, this is the joy of it! Same as the S3 versus the A3 or the RS4 versus an S4. You spot it, your brain immediately thinks "3 Series". Then almost subconciously your brain thinks, "no wait, hang on a minute..." You focus in, take in the details, and realise you're looking at something a whole lot more serious. This is the appeal of cars like this. They drift around almost unnoticed, only the true (and observent) enthusiast clocking the real potential. If I had one (an M3 or an RS4) I'd take the badges off too... Personally I think that the Audi Cabriolet is a nicer design than a 3 Series Cabrio, be it M3 or otherwise, but I'm of course more than happy for someone to say thew opposite, its an entirely subjective viewpoint. To my eye the Audi Cabrio is a cleaner more cohesive design. But then its newer, so it ought to be. Be a poor show if they launched a new model that still didn't look as good as the main competitor even though their car had been out a while. But against that I'd definitely say that the M3 looks more aggresive and more sporty, and if thats what floats your boat then there's your car. Horses for courses, each to their own and all that. I looked at a 3 Series before I bought my Audi Cabrio and I preferred the Audi. I'm not saying that cos I've got an Audi, I've got an Audi because I'm saying that. But an S4 or an M3, now that would be a tough one...

Aren't Saudi horses pretty good... Actually they are the best, right? Thanks for the compliment, but you really shouldn't let it wind you up. If on the other hand it is an insult directed at Audi RS owners in general, then shame on you.
PhilT
[ QUOTE ] If I had one (an M3 or an RS4) I'd take the badges of too... [/ QUOTE ] LOL Had to read that twice to understand what you meant... Either "of two" = MRS34 or "off too", i.e. debadged. Debadging is no longer necessary, the M and RS badges have been abused for so long it's actually really nice to see them on a car that they belong to. One RS4 owner was going to put 1.9 TDi badges on, and Audi asked him kindly no to!!

I just like the subtlty of these kind of M and RS cars, hence the debadge. Kind of coompletes the "Q Car" appeal. Mind you, like the 1.9Tdi badge idea too! RS4_Barry
I have owned an M3 Coupe, M3 Cab and a couple of RS4's to name but a few. The M3 Coupe is a terrific car with far superior driving dynamics to a standard RS4. Although spend a bit of money on the RS4 and the tables turn. The Cab however is dynamically flawed - two words SCUTTLE SHAKE. It skips and jumps over anything more than a join in the tarmac due to it's terribly hard suspension It is not a drivers car it's heavier and slower than the coupe hence why I kept mine for 3 weeks and bought another RS4. Don't give a feck if anyone thinks I'm biased I like my RS4 and I like the M3 but as a drivers car the Coupe pisses all over the cab. Cab for posing coupe for driving.
