Mook
This whole tread has gotten a bit petty. Ho hum. I know a few Apple developers. One of them asked if anyone wanted to test the public beta of iOS 7. I said yes, because (having been in software most of my life) I know that public beta programmes add a huge amount of value to the testing process, because users don't use software the same as the software and test engineers do, no matter how hard they try. And when it comes to phones, everyone uses them differently. There's risk associated with it, because it could bork my phone, but it's just a phone and it's all automatically backed up every day. If I lose it for a couple of days it's not the end of the world for me til I get a replacement. I completely get that for some people that's not a viable option, so stay well away if you're not prepared to take the risk. As for unofficial beta programmes, you have got to be completely OUT OF YOUR BOX to even contemplate doing this.

Daz
But that's the idea of a beta to find these sorts of bugs
Andy_Bangle
Correct Daz, however in the past these bugs have been found in the actual versions. Most recently it was found in v6.1 then fixed in v6.1.2 but, reintroduced in v6.1.3 and a different one in v6.1.4. Prior to that it was in v4.1. Apple aren't alone in this, Samsung have had a similar bug. (Disclosure: I work with exploits, I leave beta testing to the monkeys)
Biscuits
Beta means unfinished or prototype. I was going to try the Beta, might still, but changed from a 4 to 5... so need to redo the Dev thingy first.

(Disclosure: I work with exploits, I leave beta testing to the monkeys) It does seen odd that an old 'feature' has been re-introduced, guess its a case of bad source control. Having said that, nothing surprises me these days with the way developers work

burble
Battery life seems to be really crap for me lately, I took my iPhone 5 off charge about 10am yesterday and by 8am it was down to 1%. I'd barely used the thing. I did use Facebook though and I know there's issues with that but I didn't realise it killed the battery quite that much. I'm really liking the Camera app, it's massively quicker now and it's nice to be able to take a number of shots on quick succession.
Biscuits
It's not consistant the battery drain... so I really do think it's app related. Probably Facebook or similar using GPS or maybe network location ???
burble
It could be one or a few things combining I guess. I was all over the place yesterday so I don't think it's network related but I did have some LTE when I was out for lunch and that can kill the battery. burble
Battery life has been somewhat different the last few days. The battery is currently sitting at 25% and I took it off charge 2 days 3 hours ago. I've not used the Facebook app at all though.
